Every drug discovery effort inevitably rests on the ability to express protein. Whether the protein of interest is a lead therapeutic, mutant variants of a lead protein, putative antigens for a sub-unit vaccine or protein target to be used in structural studies, rapid access to active protein is vital.

The Pfenex Discovery Protein Solution
Pfēnex Expression Technology^TM addresses that challenge through its unique ability to routinely achieve high cell densities (30-50 OD) in 0.5 mL 96-well format. This enables Pfenex scientists to rapidly generate useful amounts of active protein, thus enabling our partners to accelerate their drug discovery and development efforts.

By screening a smaller subset of engineered expression strains with several genes of interest, Pfenex scientists can identify a strain or strains capable of producing a smaller but sufficient target titer to meet the needs of a research program.
